It's fascinating to me how the general agreement in the Undertale fandom on how the story is interpreted has changed multiple times (and probably will change again) Every time, in every single popular theory/interpretation, I've always seen some people who were like: "Man, can't believe the fandom used to think different about this aspect of the game, THIS is the obvious and definitive way to view it!" Then someone points out a part of the game that implies that viewpoint might not be completely right, and they're like "Well that's likely because that specific part of the game is POORLY WRITTEN because it's obvious that my view on it is the right one" I understand growing affection to our own views, and I completely get not liking everything about the game. I myself find stuff on it I didn't really like, but that doesn't mean I should not accept them as part of it.
